We knew from the first tasting that this was going to be our house single origin. Dark chocolate, buttery sweetness, a hint of shortbread and hazelnut, with a rich, smooth texture and beautifully clean finish — this was the coffee we wanted to wake up to every morning.

And we loved where it came from too. La Bastilla sits high in the mountains of Nicaragua, beside a protected nature reserve, where coffee grows amongst shade trees, volcanic soils and a patchwork of different microclimates. From growing and hand-picking the cherries to processing and grading the beans, everything happens right there on the estate.
